Travel immunization
1. Mixed Billing Practice – Effective from July 2022
– Concession cards include the following – Children under 16 with Medicare cards/Pensioner/DVA/Health Care Card
– Fee may vary depending on consult length or type
– Any wound reviews will be charged a “out of pocket” fee.

3. Cancellations & Nonattendance – Failure to attend an appointment and late cancelation would occur a late cancelation fee of
$40. (Minimum cancelation time frame is 3 hours prior to the appointment)

– Patients without a valid Medicare or concession card will pay a private fee

1. Women’s and men’s health checks
- Checks for men, checks for women, monitoring health, screening and reducing risks
- An Overall health assessment that will enable you and your doctor to identify current and potential health risks

- The doctor will check the child’s growth and development

4. Chronic Disease management
- Managing long term illness and health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, musculoskeletal conditions and stroke
5. Heart health assessments
- Adults 45 years and above
- At risk of developing cardiovascular disease or having a stroke

- Taking in consideration – Diet, physical activity levels, sleep patterns, metal wellbeing, alcohol intake and tobacco use
7. Diabetic Risk Assessment
- Assess the risk of developing type 2 diabetes
- Referrals to Dietitian and Diabetic Educator
8. Skin checks
- Examine moles and lesions of concern
- Checking skin integrity in areas of pressure, color changes or discoloration, variations in heat, firmness and moisture
9. Bone density scanning
- A bone density scan measures the density of bone in a person.
- The lower the density of a bone the higher the risk of fractures. A bone scan, along with a patient’s medical history, is a useful aid in evaluating the probability of a fracture and whether any preventative treatment is needed. A bone density scan has the advantage of being painless and exposing the patient to only a small amount of radiation.
10. Cervical screening
- The cervical screening test is a simple test done every 5 years to check for human papillomavirus (HPV) – a common infection
- Performed either by your doctor or our trained nurse

- Advice resulting in Improved Self-management Skills

14. Medication reviews
- Evaluation of medicines with the aim to optimize the quality use of medicines
15. Hep C Education
- All adults, pregnant women, and people with risk factors should get tested for hepatitis C.
The risk can be reduced by
- Not sharing or reusing needles, syringes or any other equipment used to prepare and inject drugs, steroids, hormones, or other substances.
- Not using personal items that may have come into contact with an infected person’s blood, even in amounts to small to see, such as glucose monitors, razors, nail clippers, or toothbrushes.
- Do not get tattoos or bloody piercings from an unlicensed facility or in a formal setting.
16. Travel immunization
- Consult our doctors to determine whether you need an immunization before travelling to your next destination
- Some countries require certification of vaccinations that you have had, our doctors can help with that
17. Influenza and pneumovax vaccinations
- Administered together for flu and pneumonia
- Recommended for patient 5 years and older
18. Minor Procedures
- Type of procedures done at HFP is to includes, excision, Biopsies, cryotherapy. Toenail resection, removal of foreign bodies.
19. Childhood vaccinations
- Vaccines can prevent infectious diseases like measles or whooping cough
20. Rsv – Vaccinations – Maternal Vaccination During Pregnancy
- RSV – Respiratory Syncytial virus causes mild cold-like symptoms
- Symptoms like, running nose, sneezing, fever cough and a decrease of appetite
- It is recommended for pregnant motherS and babies that have been born without mother not being vaccinated before birth
21. Covid Vaccinations
- Recommended for all people 18 years and older
- Provides acquired immunity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.
22. Q-fever vaccinations
- Q fever vaccine is recommended for people older than 15years who are at risk of infection this, includes people like
- Abattoir workers
- farmers
- stockyard workers
- shearers
- animal transporters (of high-risk animals such as cattle, camels, sheep, goats and kangaroos)
- veterinarians, veterinary nurses and veterinary students
- professional dog and cat breeders
- pet food manufacturing workers
- agricultural college staff and students
23. Wound Management

24. Ear syringing
- Removal of wax build up
25. Smoking cessation
- Advice regarding quitting smoking
26. Spirometry
- Lung function test – measuring the amount of air you can breathe in one second and the total volume of air you can exhale in one forced breath

27. Audiometry
- Testing your hearing
- Performed by our registered nurse
28. ECG’s
- Recording the heart’s electrical activity
- Detect problems with your heart rate or heart rythm
29. ABP monitoring
- Requires 24hour blood pressure monitoring
- Ensure accurate diagnosis and personalized care
30. Holter monitoring
- Records the electrical activity of the heart over a 24hour period or longer
31. Workcover and tac
- Workcover is a service provided by WorkSafe Victoria that covers employers for certain costs in their workers are injured or become ill because of their work
- TAC – The Transport Accident Commission is the statutory insurer of third-party personal liability for road accidents in the State of Victoria.
- The TAC’s purpose is to fund treatment and support services for people injured in transport accidents.
32. Pre-employment medicals
- Workforce assessments involving full medicals involving body functions together with blood tests, drug tests, respiratory health tests and audiometry tests
33. License medicals
- Doctor will assess your fitness to drive enabling Vic Roads to issue your license
Other community services
- Serving the population in aged care facilities in the Western district
- Providing doctor services to secondary schools in Western district (Doctor in secondary school’s program)
- Clinical placement training for nursing students through Australian Primary Health Care Nursing Association

Clinical Labs Pathology available – Monday – Friday 8.30am – 12.30pm

The Bonebus has annual visits to the practice.
This service is free to eligible patients.
